    Investment regulation scrapped in Algeria

    (MENAFN) Media reports announced the government of Algeria to have scrapped an investment regulation with a purpose to lure an increased amount of foreign investments.

    Rule of 49/51, which involves foreign investment, was abolished by the government as it launched the Budget Law of 2009 to offer Algerian operators most of stake in partnership initiatives,

    Foreign firms and economic experts constantly slammed the rule, saying that it was an obstacle for economic growth.

    According to critics, the rule stopped investments in Algeria from foreign operators.
