Syrians pose USD3b burden on Lebanese economy

(MENAFN) Syrians who took refuge in Lebanon have brought a heavy USD3 billion burden into the Lebanese economy per year, as revealed President Michel Aoun.

President Aoun stated "this figure has a very negative impact on our small country whereby Lebanon's debt increased by 27 billion dollars following the Syrian crisis."

The U.S. ought to seek out the most appropriate resolution when it comes to the Syrian and Palestinian refugee issue within Lebanon, the president stressed.

Aoun further highlighted the necessity of separating Syrians' comeback to their country along with the need of finding a political solution to the Syrian crisis.

Lebanon is suffering from setbacks in its economy and growth as a result of the burden that Syrians pose.
