Boost expected in Tunisian 2020 state budget

(MENAFN) Tunisian Finance Minister Ridha Chalgoum revealed that the country is expected to see a boost in its state budget for next year to stand at USD16.4 billion.

Finance Minister Chalgoum confirmed that the budget is looking to achieve 3 percent of gross domestic product in next year's deficit from the 3.9 percent of this year.

It comes amid a struggle Tunisia has been witnessing in its economy, with a hike in unemployment rates and inflation.

Chahed further added that by 2020, inflation will record a decline by 5 percent compared to the 7.8 percent boost seen a year ago.
