(MENAFN) Roughly 2 million Egyptians are now part of a food subsidy program again after posts that Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi released on Twitter saying that he is following up on the issue.

Overall of 1.8 million citizens that were out of the food staples system made a comeback by the end of September.

Sisi stated "as part of my follow up of all procedures related to aiding people with lower income, I understand the stance of the citizens who have been negatively affected by the filtration of the subsidy cards and being removed from them."
