    Turkey's benchmark stock index increases 3.70 percent

    (MENAFN) Turkey's benchmark stock index increased by 3.70 percent, or 3,509.78 points, to begin the previous transaction day of the week at 98,406.01 points after the last night's deal with the U.S. over northern Iraq.

    Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index grew by 0.81 percent to close at 94,896.23 points with an every day trading volume of USD 911 million, on Thursday.

    At 9.30 a.m. local time on Friday, the U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange price decreased to 5.7670 as of, in comparison with 5.8850 at Thursday's close.

    The euro/Turkish lira exchange price also fell to 6.4140, next to 6.5540, and one British pound traded for 7.4380 Turkish liras, as it was 7.5736 at the last close; and at 10 a.m. local time on Friday, one barrel of Brent crude oil was sold for around USD 59.80.
