Turkey's Borsa Istanbul closes up by 0.83 percent
(MENAFN) Turkey's benchmark stock index closed the day at 103,972.36 points on Tuesday, increasing 0.83percent from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul"s BIST 100 index started the day at 103,452.32 points. As of the daily close, it rose 853.88 points from Monday"s close of 103,118.48 points.
During Tuesday's trading, the index drifted between 103,452.32 points and 104,428.34 points.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around USD120 billion by market close, and the daily trading volume was USD1.7 billion.
On the second transaction day of the week, 58 stocks on the index rose, 36 were down, and six were flat compared to Monday.
The top-listed companies by market value were Turkish conglomerate Koc Holding and private lenders Garanti and Akbank.
The highest trading volumes were recorded by national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, aviation company Pegasus, and defense giant Aselsan.
