    Turkey registers external debt stock of USD121.1B in Sept.

    (MENAFN) Based on the official data, Turkey's short-term external debt stock reached to USD121.3 billion as of the end of September.

    According to the data of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), the country's external debt stock - maturing within one year or less - increased 6 per cent in September versus the end of 2018.

    The bank said the currency breakdown of the debt stock was composed of 50.9 per cent U.S. dollar, 30.4 per cent euro, 13 per cent Turkish lira and 5.7 per cent other currencies.

    "From the borrower's side, the short-term debt of public sector, which consists of public banks, posted USD22.5 billion." "And the short-term debt of private sector climbed 7.4 per cent to USD92.4 billion compared to the end of 2018," the bank said.
