    Iran's crude steel production up by 6.2 percent in 10 months

    (MENAFN) About 21.52 million tons of crude steel was casted during the first 10 months of 2019 by Iranian steelmakers, marking a 6.2-percent increase compared to corresponding figure of 2018, which was 20.26 million tons.

    Iran produced 2.2 million tons of crude steel in October, showing a 7.5-percent rise compared to the figure for the same month of 2018, which was 2.04 million tons, according to figures released by the World Steel Association (WSA) on Tuesday.

    China topped the list of crude steel producers during the first 10 months of 2019, with an output of 829.21 million tons.

    Global steel output in October amounted to 151.62 million tons, showing a 2.7-percent rise compared to the corresponding figure of 2018 which was 155.83 million tons.
