    USD22.2m to reach Lebanese hospital from AFD

    (MENAFN) The Lebanese Rafik Hariri University Hospital was confirmed to be backed with USD22.2 million under a deal sealed between the French Development Agency (AFD) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

    Head of the ICRC delegation in Lebanon Christophe Martin joined the signing ceremony for the financing agreement alongside French Ambassador to Lebanon Bruno Foucher, and AFD Country Director for Lebanon and Syria Olivier Ray.

    Previously, 13,000 patients were supported through such cooperation as 26 initiatives were carried out with a purpose to enhance the hospital's healthcare performance and the working situation of employees.

    General Manager of Rafik Hariri University Hospital Firas Abiad stated "our partnership with the ICRC allows us to help the most vulnerable patients and at the same time develop the local institution which ensures our durability."
