    USD61m KfW loan reach Morocco for drinking water projects

    (MENAFN) Morocco was declared to have secured a USD61 million loan from the German Development Bank (KfW) in support of 3 projects that the North African country is carrying out for drinking water supply.

    Rabat hosted the signing ceremony of the financial agreement, of which Moroccan Office for Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE) director general Abderrahim El Hafidi penned with director of the KfW office in Morocco Markus Faschina.

    The country is planned to use USD31 million worth of the total loan in supplying water to small and medium-sized centers, with USD24 million of the loan planned to go for supplying drinking water to Settat city.

    Meanwhile, the rest of the loan will be used for works to extend and renovate sanitation systems in small and medium-sized cities in the country.
