25 percent of import market in Iraq held by Iran

(MENAFN) The worth of Iranian exports to Iraq totals to one-fourth of the Arab country's whole imports, according to chairman of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran Hamid Zadboum.

Zadboum said that, "25 percent of the import market in Iraq is held by Iran, as the value of Iranian goods makes up some 10 billion U.S. dollars of the total of Iraqi imports".

"Iran has the potential to experience a big rise in exports to Iraq," and the TPOI has sent off a commercial representative to the southern Iraqi city of Basra for the first time, as said by Zadboum.

He also added that, Iran would hopefully improve exports to Iraq and is likely to get a larger share of Iraq's import market by next year.
