Jordan: prices of several types of fuel to be increased
(MENAFN) As of January, 2020, the Jordanian government decided to increase the prices of unleaded 90 and 95 octane gasoline and the climb in gas prices will range between 1-3 percent, as said in a statement by the Ministry of Energy.
Prices of oil derivatives in the local market and other costs, including shipping and taxes, are calculated according to global prices.
The climb in fuel prices follows the rise in prices of oil internationally, according to the government; the government also said that it would not increase the prices of electricity.
As said by the Ministry of Energy, Jordan imports about 96 percent of its energy requirements.
