    Daily electricity consumption in Turkey increases by 18.69 percent

    (MENAFN) Official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) showed that, on Monday, Turkey's daily electricity usage grew by 18.69 percent to 884,991 megawatt-hours.


    According to data from TEIAS, hourly power usage increased 18:00 local time with 43,443 megawatt-hours and Turkey's electricity usage decreased to its lowest point of 27,004 megawatt-hours at 05:00.


    On Monday, total electricity production arrived at 884,991 megawatt-hours with a 19.07 percent raise in comparison with the previous day; most of the output came from natural gas plants with 207,271 megawatt-hours.


    Turkey's electricity exports reached 6,988 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted at 8,691 megawatt-hours on Monday; imported coal plants and hydroelectricity followed with 190,060 megawatt-hours and 171,927 megawatt-hours, respectively.
