    Turkey's daily electricity usage decreases by 8.87 percent

    (MENAFN) Official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) showed that, on Sunday, Turkey's daily electricity usage dropped by 8.87 percent to 745,467 megawatt-hours.


    According to data from TEIAS, hourly power usage peaked at 20:00 local time with 36,197 megawatt-hours; Turkey's electricity usage decreased to its lowest point of 27,379 megawatt-hours at 05:00.


    On Sunday, total electricity production arrived at 748,167 megawatt-hours with a drop of 8.92 percent in comparison with the previous day; most of the output came from natural gas plants with 210,858 megawatt-hours.


    Turkey's electricity exports totaled to 7,658 megawatt-hours, while imports were 4,958 megawatt-hours, on Sunday, also imported coal plants and hydroelectricity followed with 208,200 megawatt-hours and 96,337 megawatt-hours, respectively.
