    Iran's Ministry of Industry announces annual decline in car output

    A decrease by at least a quarter was seen in car output through Iran in December, according to a report released be the country's Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade (MIMT).

    The first nine months of the Iranian calendar year, between late March and late December 2019, total number of cars produced in Iran topped 524,200, said the report covered in the official IRNA news agency.

    Compared to the similar period in 2018, the output was 25.6 percent down, as shown in the report.

    It also included that "Other products of the Iranian automotive industry, one of the largest in the Middle East and North Africa region, were also on decline last year except for vans and pick-up trucks whose total production stood at 45,700, an increase of 16.5 percent".
