    Turkey: energy import bill totals USD19.02 billion in December

    (MENAFN) Data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute showed that, in December 2019, Turkey's energy import bill dropped by 7.4 percent to USD3.63 billion in comparison with December 2018.


    In December, Turkey's general import bill, including energy and other items, amounted to USD19.02 billion with energy accounting for 19.08 percent of the overall import figures, according to the data.


    Even when the overall energy import bill decreased last month, Turkey grew its crude oil purchases.


    In comparison with December 2018, Turkey's crude oil imports showed an almost 22 percent increase in the same period; Turkey imported about 2.57 million tons of crude oil last month, up from 2.11 million tons in December 2018.
