    Foreign trade between Iran, Eurasia reaches USD2 billion

    (MENAFN) As said by a Customs Administration spokesman, in the first 10 months of this year recent Iranian year, Iran's foreign trade with Eurasia has stood at USD2 billion, and imports have climbed by 41 percent.


    According to Ruhollah Latifi, on October 27, the trade deal with the Eurasian Economic Union came into force and applied preferential discounts in respect of 862 import and export goods with the member-states of the economic union.


    In the past 10 months, weight of exports to Eurasia totaled 2.683 million tons and valued USD19.603 million.


    The amount of imports from the Eurasian Union countries also grew, Iran's volume of imports from Eurasian countries in the period under review amounted to 2.563 million tons in terms of weight and valued USD1.06 billion, which is an increase of 41 percent in weight, but drop of 5 percent in value in comparison with the same period last year, as Ruhollah Latifi said.
