    Iran: over USD7.1 billion worth of bank loans paid to small, medium-sized enterprises

    (MENAFN) In the first 10 months of the recent Iranian calendar year, more than USD7.1 billion worth of bank loans have been paid to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and semi-finished industrial projects with more than 60 percent physical progress, according to Iran's Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade.


    As said in a repot by IRNA, more than 19,911 projects and production units registered requests for bank loans in the mentioned time duration.


    The banking system paid about USD149 billion in late January in loans to domestic economic sectors in the first 10 months of the recent Iranian year, as informed by Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Governor Abdolnaser Hemmati.


    In the mentioned time duration, about USD6.6 billion worth of bank loans were offered to small and medium-sized enterprises and about USD2.38 billion was offered to make new maintainable job opportunities, Hemmati added.
