    Turkey: daily electricity usage decreases by 11.9 percent

    (MENAFN) Official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) showed that, on Sunday, Turkey's daily electricity usage dropped by 11.9 percent to 734,295 megawatt-hours.


    According to data from TEIAS, hourly power usage increased at 20:00 local time with 35,845 megawatt-hours and Turkey's electricity usage decreased to its lowest point of 27,203 megawatt-hours at 08:00.


    On Sunday, whole electricity production arrived at 729,546 megawatt-hours with a 12 percent drop in comparison with the day before.


    Most of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 188,471 megawatt-hours, coal plants and lignite plant followed respectively with 175,483 megawatt-hours and 94,497 megawatt-hours and on Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports totaled 7,574 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 12,323 megawatt-hours.
