    Turkey: about USD32 million earned in highway tolls

    (MENAFN) Official figures showed that, Turkey made about USD32 million in tolls in January.


    As said by the General Directorate of Highways, the July 15 Martyrs' Bridge and the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge in Istanbul, linking Europe and Asia over the Bosphorus, gave way more than USD6.6 million the month before.


    According to the data, in January, the highway tolls throughout Turkey made USD25.4 million and over 35 million cars drove through the toll booths in the same period.


    Drivers in Turkey pay USD1.8 for bridge tolls, with higher fees for vehicles with over two axles.
