    Turkey: daily electricity usage drops by 1.34 percent

    (MENAFN) Official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) showed that, on Saturday, Turkey's every day electricity usage dropped by 1.34 percent to 810,955 megawatt-hours.


    According to data from TEIAS, hourly power usage increased at 12:00 local time with 37,852 megawatt-hours, Turkey's electricity consumption decreased to its lowest level of 27,936 megawatt-hours at 05:00; on Saturday, total electricity production stood at 806,070 megawatt-hours with a 1, 22 percent drop in comparison with the day before.


    Most of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 178,089 megawatt-hours and imported coal and natural gas plants were after respectively with 168,153 megawatt-hours and 120,302 megawatt-hours.


    Turkey's electricity exports totaled 9,273 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,388 megawatt-hours on Saturday.
