Iran: daily gasoline usage drops another 10 percent

(MENAFN) As said by the planning director of National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC), average daily gasoline usage in Iran has dropped by 10 percent to stand at 70 million liters after the execution of the rationing plan.

According to Shahram Rezaei, "the average daily consumption of gasoline in the previous month of Bahman stood at 80 million liters; the figure fell to 70 million in the current calendar month of Esfand."

The decrease in gasoline usage over the execution of the rationing plan is significant because Iran's fuel usage was following an upward trend before gasoline was rationed, as the official said.

The average daily gasoline usage since the start of the recent Iranian calendar year up to the execution of the rationing plan on November 15 was about 95 million liters, which showed a 6.1-percent rise in comparison with the average daily usage for the year before.
