Dafza's contribution to Dubai's foreign trade jump to Dh164 billion in 2019
(MENAFN) In 2019, Dubai Airport Freezone Authority's contribution to Dubai's foreign trade made an increase of 12.6 percent after it climbed to Dh164 billion.
In comparison with 11.2 percent in 2018, the free zone played a key role in improving Dubai's economic expansion with a 12 percent contribution to the emirate's foreign trade in 2019, out of a total trade worth of Dh1.37 trillion recorded in 2019, as said in a statement by the free zone.
According to the statement, "this came as a direct result of the incentives and business facilitation services provided by Dafza that have enhanced the attractiveness of the free zone to foreign investors".
The rise in Dafza's foreign trade was caused by over 15.8 percent expansion in imports value Dh72.4 billion as exports reached Dh91.8 billion while re-exports making a 10.2 percent growth, helping Dafza attain an Dh19.4 billion trade surplus in 2019.
