    Gross debt stock of Turkey's central government at around USD225.8 billion

    (MENAFN) Official figures informed that, Turkey's central government's gross debt stock reached about USD225.8 billion starting from February 29.


    According to the Treasury and Finance Ministry, in comparison with the corresponding period last year, the figure was 25 percent; the gross debt stock comprises the exceptional debt of public sector institutions, the Central Bank, private companies, and households.


    As said by the ministry, about 48 percent of the debt stock is denominated in local currency and the rest is denominated in foreign currency.


    The ministry added that, USD126 billion or 55.8 percent of the debt was domestic and USD96.9 billion were external.
