    Egypt's tourism profits hit record high of USD13 billion

    (MENAFN) As said in a statement by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), Egypt's tourism income reached a record high of USD13 billion in 2019.


    The CBE said that, "the total revenues of tourism sector increased to 13.03 billion dollars in 2019 compared to 11.6 billion dollars in 2018, and 12.5 billion dollars in 2010 which was the peak year in terms of tourist flows".


    As said by CBE, the profits stood at USD7.8 billion in 2017 and USD2.5 billion in 2016, while in 2015, it reached 6.1 billion dollars.


    The statement added that, the amount of tourists who visited Egypt in 2019 was predicted at 13.1 million which was less than that in 2010 which reached 14.7 million.
