    Turkey's Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) at 48.1 this March

    (MENAFN) This March, Turkey's Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) was at 48.1 with the coronavirus outbreak in comparison with 52.4 last month, posting below the 50 no-change mark for the first time in 3 months.


    Arranged in collaboration with London-based global data firm IHS Markit, output and new orders both softened, while firms scaled back purchasing activity, as said in a report by the Istanbul Chamber of Industry PMI Manufacturing Index.


    The report added, "On a positive note, employment continued to increase".


    It said that, Problems in the sector were attributed to the COVID-19 outbreak, which resulted in moderations of output and new orders.
