Average daily gasoline usage in Iran drop to 44 million liters

(MENAFN) During the Iranian New Year, average daily gasoline usage in Iran decreased to 44 million liters after the travel restrictions applied amid the coronavirus outbreak.

In the 15-day period Iran's gasoline usage dropped by almost 50 million liters in comparison with the figure for 2019's same period, as said by Keramat Veiskarami, the managing director of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC).

Veiskarami said that, Iranians used 94 million liters of gasoline on average in 2019's Norouz holidays.

The official said, "Fortunately, the significant decrease in gasoline consumption is an indication of the people's conformance to the general recommendations of the Coronavirus Headquarters regarding the traffic bans during Norouz [holidays] this year, and it is hoped that this trend will continue in the coming days".
