Card payments usage increase in March in Turkey

(MENAFN) According to the Interbank Card Center (BKM), contactless card payments in Turkey increased in March, in comparison with March 2019, reaching 85.8 million transactions.

Of these some 2.5 million contactless cards were used for the first time, as the data informed.

The rise in contactless transactions comes at a time when the world is fighting coronavirus, a respiratory illness that has killed almost 76,000 lives in 184 countries.

Turkey has executed strict social distancing measures, educational institutions, malls, cafes and restaurants are closed to slow the spread of coronavirus.
