    98 percent of depositors won't be impacted by government's economic plan: Lebanon

    (MENAFN) 98 percent of depositors will not be effected by the government's financial and economic plan aimed at restructuring Lebanon's debt, according to Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab.

    As said by Diab, "we are in a very tough and complicated situation but no one is allowed to confiscate people's money."

    The government will concentrate on improving the stolen public funds which will be put in a special fund to compensate the Lebanese who have been effected by malpractices of officials, as Diab said.

    The Lebanese government had planned a 34-page strategy aimed at executing economic and financial developments following Lebanon's decision to default on its USD90 billion in public debt.
