    Turkey announces shortage in cash balance last month

    (MENAFN) On Friday, the Turkish Treasury and Finance Ministry said in a statement that it registered a deficit of 46.2 billion Turkish liras (USD 6.6 billion) in its cash balance during the last month of April.

    On an annual basis, the Turkish Treasury posted a rise by 6.8 percent in the cash profits during the last April, when the value of revenues reached 65.8 billion Turkish liras (which is equal to USD 9.4 billion).

    Compared to April 2019, the Treasury's disbursements rose by 47 percent during the last month, reaching 112.8 billion liras (USD 16.2 billion), with nearly 16.5 billion liras or USD 2.4 billion of them allocated interest payments.

    Whereas non-interest outlays totaled 96.3 billion liras (USD 13.8 billion), causing the primary balance to record a shortage with 30.5 billion liras (USD 4.4 billion).
