Iran, Syria to expand mutual trade
(MENAFN) As of the next Iranian calendar year 1400 (starts on March 21, 2021), the worth of Iran's trade with Syria will amount to USD 1 billion, according to a statement by Head of Iran-Syria Joint Chamber of Commerce Keyvan Kashefi.
Kashefi was cited by the portal of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) as declaring that "Considering the plans we have on the agenda for expanding trade with Syria, the value of Iran's trade with the country is expected to reach $1 billion by the next year."
Both, the Iranian and Syrian private sectors have been conducting trade activates in the structure of a mutual economic committee in the preceding 1.5 years, nevertheless, Iran-Syria Joint Chamber of Commerce has been established as a result of the rise in the activities, which is considered as a vital step in the expansion of trade ties between the two nations
He further included "Syria is one of our main trade markets and export destinations, especially in the future, and we have common interests with this country in various fields, which can support our economic relations."
