    Interest rate in Turkey's Central Bank expected to see decline

    (MENAFN) On Monday, a survey conducted by an Anadolu News Agency revealed that the Central Bank of Turkey will reduce interest rates during the current week, as economists forecast.

    The interest rate decision of the Bank will be announced at at the Monetary Policy Committee's fifth meeting which will be held on Thursday, May 21st this year.

    Although 15 among 17 leading economists polled by Anadolu Agency were predicting an average 50-base-point decline, varying from 25 to 100 basis points, the two remaining economists expected no improvement.

    Based on the agency's survey, one economic expert anticipated a 100-base-point decline, someone else predicted 75 basis points, 11 foreseen 50 basis points and two expected 25 basis points.
