    Central bank of Turkey increases lira swap sale to 50 percent

    Banking sources in Turkey said on Friday that the central bank of the country has increased its lira swap sales limits from an earlier 40 percent to a total of 50 percent, increase of an overal 10 percent.

    The bank has raised the swap auctions limit in the Lira Swap Market for Foreign Exchange, throught a directive it has sent to banks.

    As a result, the flexibility of the banks in the Turkish local currency, the lira, and the liquidity management of the foreign currency, are going to be also increased.

    The decision of the bank is going to take effect starting on the 27th of May, the bank said.
