    Turkey posts 61.7 risein Economic confidence index in May

    (MENAFN) According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Turkish statistical authority, the local financial confidence indicator saw a sharp increase by 61.7 during the current month of May.

    The most recent data compiled by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) revealed that the latest surge in the figure came amid Turkey's normalization from the fading coronavirus pandemic, with the index jumping by 20.4 percent in May after reaching 51.3 last month.

    All together, the consumer, real sector, services, retail trade, and construction confidence indexes" enhancements have contributed to the recent monthly jump.

    During May, the construction confidence index stood at 31.1 percent, indicating the highest month-on-month rise among other indices.

    Within the same period, the consumer and service confidence indexes also reached 8.5 percent and 10.8 percent, correspondingly.
