    4.5 percent expansion in Turksih economy in Q1

    The statistical authority of Turkey announced on Friday that the Turkish economy has expanded 4.5 percent in the starting quarter of the year compared to a year earlier.

    The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) said that the gross domestic product (GDP) of the country at current prices stood at a total of USD176.1 billion in the cited quarter.

    The institute said that "seasonally and calendar adjusted GDP increased by 0.6% compared with the previous quarter".

    According to the figure, the economy of Turkey was less impacted by the coronavirus outbreak compared to other large economies, however, the impact was worse than analysts' predictions.
