    Oman calls on 60-year-old employees to retire

    The Omani government on Tuesday, June 2nd, made a decision to call on the employees aged 60 or more in government companies to retire, in a goal to create more job opportunities.

    The decision, made by the Ministry of Finance, agreed that all workers in government companies who are aged 60 years and above must be referred for retirement, as is the system in other government institutions.

    The ministry also requests all government companies to apply the decision, with the purpose of speeding up the pace of employment and creating job opportunities to suit the Omanis looking for work.

    As the Omani news agency ONA reported, the decision also intends to set some characteristics of the labor market and employment policies in all government companies,.
