Yusufeli Dam to generate USD221 revenue for Turkey yearly
(MENAFN)
The President of Turkey said on Saturday that a new dam and hydroelectric power plant that is located in Artvin province in northeastern Turkey is going to generate a revenue of USD221 million to the country on yearly basis.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the president, said during the Yusufeli Dam opening ceremony through a video link that the dam has been completely built by Turkish engineers.
According to the president, the dam has a 275 meters height and it is going to provide 540 megawatts when it starts operating at full capacity in the upcoming year.
He added that the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party been developing the water resources since the last 18 years and has massively increased the number of irrigation and flood protection organizations in the period.
