Dropping electricity losses saves Iran 270m USD

    (MENAFN)

The mentioned saved amount has been due to the construction of new power plants across the country.

Through diverse measures taken by the Energy Ministry, the national grid faced a single-digit figure (9.76 percent) of electricity losses in2019, which was unprecedented.

The seven-percent yearly cancelation also cut down on 500 million cubic meters of gas consumption in the power plants and avoided from the emission of one million tons of carbon dioxide.

Electricity losses in Iran's power grid are now lesser than that of many countries, such as Brazil, Turkey, Mexico, Hungary, Croatia, India, and Pakistan.

The country seriously decided to diminish the losses more in the current and next years.
