    (MENAFN)

The Iranian government's office for statistics (SCI) states that red meat profits in the country increased by almost a quarter last month in comparison the same period in 2019.

The SCI said in a report published on Sunday, June 14th that government- licensed abattoirs had produced a total of 30,900 metric tons of red meat in the second Persian calendar month from late April and late May.

The report also said that the output demonstrated a 23-percent surge compared to the same period in the previous year and was higher by 41 percent than figures recorded at the end of the previous monthly period this year.

Beef accounted for more than a half of the total production of red meat in Iran with 17.2 tons, said the SCI, adding that beef output had mounted by nearly 30 percent compared to May in the previous year.
