    Turkey place to increase railway network in excess of next 5 years

    (MENAFN) The Turkish transport and infrastructure minister stated that in excess of the next five years Turkey will develop its railway network to 18,000 kilometers (11,184 miles).

    On Wednesday June 24, Adil Karaismailoglu stated addressing a digital summit on transportation and infrastructure late that Turkey's railway assets will develop in the years to come.

    Adil stated that "We have very important plans in areas such as connecting industries to railways, logistics, and transportation. We're planning the next 50 years, 100 years,".

    Turkey initiated high-speed rail service more than a decade ago and at present has extra 12,000 km (7,456 mi) of railway lines.
