    Iran thinks founding an additional oceanic port in Gulf of Oman

    (MENAFN) Mohammad Rastad Head of Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) has stated that the country is sincerely bearing in mind the founding of an additional oceanic port on the Makran coastal strip (in the Gulf of Oman).

    At present, Chabahar which is placed in Sistan-Balouchestan Province, in southeastern Iran, is the country's merely oceanic port.

    On Monday August 17 the PMO news portal accounted Rastad reminded that speaking to the national TV evening that Makran coasts can play a momentous role in Iran's prospect maritime trade exchanges.

    Highlighting that at present, the major port of the country on the Makran coasts is Chabahar's Shahid Beheshti Port the official stated that "Very good capacities have been created in this port and the capacity of the port has increased up to four times, from two million to 8.8 million.".
