    CBI releases United States court case to grab Iranian possessions detained by Clearstream

    (MENAFN) The Central Bank of Iran (CBI) has released a proceedings filed in the United States to force a European financial supplier to transfer Iranian possessions to the United States, stating the move is destined to fail like comparable American legal efforts that have ended in Iran's favor in recent years.Amir Hossein Tayyebi Fard, who serves as legal deputy to the CBI governor, stated on August 29 that Iran is gravely pursuing the case to prevent the possible elimination of nearly US Dollar 1.7 billion in securities fitting in to Iran and detained by Clearstream, a company supported in Luxembourg which is a supplementary of Germany's stock exchange operator Deutsche Boerse.Amir Hossein Tayyebi Fard stated that "The CBI is considering the required legal procedures for the release of the mentioned funds which amount to 1.7 billion USD,", adding that, "This issue is related to securities belonging to the CBI which has remained in Clearstream institution and has nothing to do with Germany.".Deutsche Boerse stated that on August 28 that it would take steps to defeat the suit filed in a New York court seeking to necessitate Clearstream to submit benefits, the company stated that it believes the maintains by creditors in the United States to be unsupported.
