    Zahedan-Chabahar railway to be prepared next year

    (MENAFN) IRIB accounted on August 29 that Head of the parliament's Construction Committee stated that Zahedan-Chabahar railway, in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan, is heading for to be operational in the next Iranian agenda year (starts in March 2021),.

    Reminding that the necessary financial support for the scheme has been supplied from the country's National Development Fund (NDF), Mohammad-Reza Rezaei-Kouchi stated that local outworkers like Khatam-al Anbiya Construction Headquarters are operational on the scheme and it will be totaled and prepared soon.

    Rezaei-Kouchi emphasized the significance of increasing the country's national railway association, uttering "Investment in railways can be of great benefit to the country in saving fuel consumption and reducing pollution.".

    Submitting to the country's Sixth Five-Year National Development Plan and the objectives portrayed in this plan for the growth of railways, Rezaei-Kouchi added that "Achieving a 30-percent freight transportation capacity and a 20-percent share of passenger traffic through railways is one of the goals that Islamic Republic of Iran Railways (RAI) is pursuing.".
