Turkey's massive gas discover value 80 billion USD
(MENAFN) On Monday August 31 Fatih Birol the International Energy Agency's (IEA) head stated to Anadolu Agency that Turkey's giant offshore natural gas detection of 320 billion cubic meters (bcm) in the Black Sea is value 80 billion USD in line with present cost trends.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared that the major gas detection in the country's history, the gas detection was made at a deepness of 2,100 meters below the marine in the Sakarya Gas Field, placed approximately 170 kilometers off the Black Sea shore.
Birol stated that the detection is believed to be a "giant" find in international terms and by contrast is corresponding to all Norway's detections in the North Sea since 2010.
Fatih pressured its significance for Turkey, a country that is 99 percent needy on gas imports, remarking that it would assist Turkey decrease its present account shortfall and natural gas bring in invoice.
