    Restaurants, cafes in Lebanon post USD600 million declines since deadly blast

    A tourism expert from Lebanon said that the monthly declines resulting from the shutdown of restaurants and cafes in Beirut after the blasts came in at from USD500 million to USD600 million dollars, according to Elnashra news website on Saturday.

    Vice president of the Syndicate of Owners of Restaurants, Cafes, Night-clubs & Pastries in Lebanon, Khaled Nazha, said that owners of restaurants and cafes can not withdrawtheir money from banks in order to fix the damage over the unofficial capital control issued by banks on depositors.

    The official said that the government can't afford to give compensations to owners of tourism companies due to their loses.

    He has urged to schedule a global aid conference in order to collect funds in order to revive the tourism sector in Lebanon.
