Saudi-Yemeni collaboration sign agreements with Alwaleed Philanthropies
(MENAFN)The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) has signed a number of deals with Alwaleed Philanthropies, the charitable organization managed by Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Al-Saud, to tackle the housing and education requirements of 4,860 Yemeni people.
The first memorandum of cooperation (MoC) is with UN-Habitat, managed by the program’s executive director Maimunah M. Sharif, to inaugurate the Adequate Housing Project.
Organized with the Yemeni government, over 600 housing units for low-income households in Aden and surrounding areas to be restored by the housing project. The project is estimated to benefit up to 4,200 people, as well as developing the general social and economic conditions of the nearby neighborhoods.
The plan will present over 200 unemployed youth vocational training opportunities, while 1,600 new job opportunities will be offered in the project.
