    Iran’s crude steel production improves 13.4 percent in 2020

    (MENAFN)The World Steel Association (WSA) reported that Iran’s crude steel production improved by 13.4 percent in 2020 while the average global development in this sector came on at -0.09 percent.

    According to Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), the country took third place amid the world’s top steel producers in terms of production development, after Uzbekistan and Moldova which both have small outputs compared to Iran.

    Iran produced 29.03 million tons of the stated commodity in 2020 compared to previous year’s nearly 25.6 million tons.

    Uzbekistan’s steel production increased 42.6 percent, and Moldova’s output improved by 18.7 percent in 2020, followed by Iran with the production development of 13.4 percent.
