    Iraq looks for international investors to put up seven solar power plants

    (MENAFN)Iraq looks for international investors to put up seven solar power plants, with an amount of 750 megawatts (MW) also it plans to improve its renewable energy potential.

    According to, the oil ministry, eager for improving its small power generation capability, Iraq is discussing some of the international companies, including French Total and “Norwegian companies” to talk about establishing solar projects.

    It further stated that all solar power plants to be established in the south of the country, including a largest 300 megawatts plant in Kerbala.

    The battered national grid supplies only some hours of power a day, putting Iraqis to swelter in the summer months, when temperatures can top 50 degrees Celsius.
