Turkish economy increases 5.9 percent in last quarter of 2020

(MENAFN)Some economists stated that Turkey’s declaration that its economy recorded increase of 5.9 percent in the last three months and 1.8 percent for the previous year overall might be good indicates for future trends, as the previous quarter recorded the starting level for the current year.

Between all the G20 countries, Turkey and China were the only that hit positive improvement, as the rest declined in the same period in light of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Turkey’s gross domestic product (GDP) increase remained high in the fourth quarter in spite of of being a little below the estimation, stated Alvaro Ortiz Vidal-Abarca, chief economist for Turkey at Spanish-based BBVA bank.

He further stated that the postpone base outcome is very high, as it hit about 6 percent, saying that this indicates that it will ease the achieving of GDP increase in the current year more than 5 percent or 6 percent for the economy.
