    Egypt to develop it railway network to avoid repetition of accidents

    (MENAFN)Egypt allocated 225 billion Egyptian pounds (USD14.36 billion) to improve its railway network and avoid a recurrence of accidents as the crash of two trains in Upper Egypt.

    Egyptian Minister of Transport Kamel Al-Wazir held an assembly with officials of the Egyptian National Railways Authority to improve a plan to avoid accidents, stating that these funds were allocated for the improvement of the current railway network.

    The trial conducted investigations into the occurrence; stated Al-Wazir explained in televised statements, that the driver of the train was at fault.

    He further declared that “We are working to establish a train network at the highest level. We have a problem with the human element on the railways and we are working to secure it at the highest level.”
